I'm the photographer behind Emerald & Aster

Photo Studio, a mom of two boys (a teen & a toddler so I get it lol), and someone who genuinely loves photographing families and kids.

My style is a mix of beautiful light, thoughtful direction, natural connection, and classic portraits. I love a good sun flare just as much as I love a portrait that feels almost painterly, rich in detail yet gentle in its rendering.

1 believe there is something special about a beautifully composed, classic portrait. The kind where everyone is looking in the same direction, the light falls just right, and the result feels worthy of a place on your walls for years to come. It's a photograph I take great care in creating, but I don't believe it should be the only kind of photograph in your gallery.

I love pairing those classic portraits with thoughtfully prompted, more candid images that reveal personality, movement, and connection. The laughter, the little expressions, the way your children gravitate toward you. These moments don't have to be entirely unposed to feel natural. Sometimes, a little direction is all it takes to create something that feels effortless.

My goal is to create a gallery that feels considered and cohesive, bringing together the beauty of classic portraiture, the softness of a painterly finish, and the character of images that feel distinctly your own.
